Hyderabad: The Telangana authorities has decided to rename Raj Bhavan as Lok Bhavan and Raj Niwas as Lok Niwas, following a recommendation from the Union Dwelling Ministry aimed at transferring away from colonial-generation terminology.
In holding with official sources, eight states private already applied same adjustments, and Telangana will now be half of that checklist. The Dwelling Ministry had suggested states to adopt names that copy democratic and indigenous values rather then colonial legacy.
The proposal originated for the length of the Convention of Governors held in 2024, the attach apart participants suggested that the timeframe Raj Bhavan “smacked of colonialism” and no longer aligned with the ethos of impartial India.
