The College and Mass Training Department on Friday initiated an investigation after villagers in Athagarh intercepted a vehicle allegedly transporting mid-day meal (MDM) rice from a authorities school beneath suspicious conditions.
The incident occurred at Chaogaon Executive Higher Major College beneath the Athgarh block of Cuttack district. In step with sources, villagers spotted the suspicious vehicle this morning, loaded with eight sacks of MDM rice. After they stopped the vehicle and wondered the driver about the destination of the rice, he reportedly failed to give a sufficient explanation.
Upon extra probing, villagers realized that the rice used to be being taken on the directions of the college’s headmistress, raising concerns about doubtless misuse or illegal sale of authorities-supplied MDM affords.

Following the uproar, the Assistant Block Training Officer (ABEO) reached the scene and started an on-the-space enquiry. Discussions were held with the college management committee and the headmistress to establish where and why the rice used to be being transported.
The ABEO acknowledged that a detailed investigation is underway to resolve whether or no longer any irregularities or misappropriation of MDM rice has taken operate. He extra assured that strict action will seemingly be taken against the headmistress or any other employees member found guilty of wrongdoing.
“The BEO known as me and directed me to investigate about the MDM rip-off, as he’s in Bhubaneswar sexy now.
