Sanitation workers marching to Secretariat detained

The Bigger Chennai City Police detained hundreds of protesting sanitation workers, on Saturday while they marched in direction of the Secretariat to submit a petition to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, searching for job permanency.

The staff, who were earlier below Nationwide City Livelihood Mission (NULM) in Royapuram and Thiru. Vi. Ka. Nagar Zones below the Bigger Chennai Company (GCC), were detained at over 20 marriage halls at some level of town, and released at spherical 7 p.m.

The protesters later regrouped at Chennai Central as of 8 p.m. In defending with Uzhaippor Urimai Iyakkam which led the protests against the privatisation of conservancy work since August, an answer will also be reached handiest if the CM holds discussions with the staff.
