Former US President Joe Biden on Tuesday issued an announcement condemning the killing of two US citizens in Minneapolis by federal agents, announcing the deaths “betray our most fundamental values as People”.

In a lengthy post on X, Biden criticised the actions of federal authorities and accused the Trump administration of allowing violence against citizens exercising their constitutional rights.

“What has unfolded in Minneapolis this past month betrays our most basic values as Americans,” Biden wrote. “We’re no longer a nation that guns down our citizens in the avenue. We’re no longer a nation that allows our citizens to be brutalized for exercising their constitutional rights.”

He said the people of Minnesota had shown courage and solidarity amid fear and unrest, while accusing the Trump administration of failing them. “Violence and terror have no place in the United States of America, especially when it’s our own government targeting American citizens,” Biden added.

The mature US president extra added that justice now requires “stout, fair correct-wanting, and clear investigations” into the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

“Jill and I are sending strength to the families and communities who love Alex Pretti and Renee Good as we all mourn their senseless deaths,” his assertion concluded.

Minneapolis has viewed weeks of stressful protests following two fatal shootings though-provoking Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. On January 7, Renee Factual, a 37-365 days-aged mom of three, was shot boring whereas sitting in her automobile all the plot thru an ICE operation. Less than three weeks later, on January 24, ICE agents killed 37-365 days-aged intensive care nurse Alex Pretti, claiming he meant to injury them all the plot thru a confrontation.

The killings came amid a important federal immigration crackdown in Minnesota. Hundreds of immigration agents had been deployed to the instruct following reviews alleging fraud by Somali immigrants, claims that Trump has over and over highlighted.
