The BJP staged a lisp at assembly advanced on the fifth day of the continuing budget session, accusing the command authorities of “allowing mafia rule and failing to act against unlawful actions”, akin to woodland felling and mining.

The lisp was held against the backdrop of allegations of tall-scale tree felling in Shillai, Mandi and diverse factors of the command. Talking to the media, Thakur alleged that diverse mafias including woodland, mining, scrap, liquor and drug networks were working freely in the command with alleged authorities patronage.
Referring to a fresh incident of alleged unlawful tree felling, he claimed that whereas permission had been granted for lowering round 25 bushes, extra than 300 bushes were truly felled on the positioning. He cited one other case in Mandi district, alleging that trees was stockpiled in tall portions even sooner than first charge approval for a wood depot was granted.
