The vigilance bureau (VB) caught a contractual employee posted at the roar of enterprise of the director, land records department, Jalandhar, red-handed whereas accepting a bribe of ₹4,000 in lieu of providing land records to the complainant.
A VB respectable spokesperson said that the accused, Parvesh, has been arrested in accordance to a grievance lodged by a resident of Chhokra village within the Dasuya tehsil, district SBS Nagar.
“The complainant said that his wife had filed a civil suit within the court docket at Dasuya seeking her factual half of 12 acres of ancestral land. On this regard, certified copies of jamabandi, land half and deposit records had been required to identify ownership of the land. The complainant said he utilized to the roar of enterprise of the director of land records at Jalandhar for getting records of his land. The complainant said that an amount of ₹18,000 has already been paid to the accused Parvesh on various dates thru Google Pay and cash, beneath compulsion. Thereafter, Parvesh extra demanded ₹4,000, he added.
The spokesperson added that the VB crew laid a entice sooner or later of which the accused turned into arrested red-handed whereas accepting a bribe of ₹4,000 from the complainant.
A case beneath the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police residing Jalandhar, and extra investigation into this case is in development, he added.
