A nine-year-worn boy became once rescued after residing locked in his father’s utility van in japanese France since 2024, Connected Press reported, citing the local prosecutor.
The baby became once rushed to a sanatorium, and his father became once detained. The incident came to gentle when a neighbour alerted the police about the “sounds of a kid” coming from the van on Monday in the Hagenbach village, said the outlet, citing a statement on Saturday from prosecutor Nicolas Heitz.
After investigators forced the van open, they found a child “lying in a fetal position, naked, covered by a blanket on top of a mound of trash and near excrement”, Heitz mentioned.
The prosecutor added the newborn became once malnourished, and became once unable to roam after being seated in a fixed scrape for round two years.

Per the AP document, the newborn’s father informed investigators that he put the newborn within the van in November 2024 because he wanted to “protect him”, adding his partner wanted to send the boy to a psychiatric hospital.
However, Heitz said there was no medical record to prove that the child had psychiatric issues, adding he had got good grades in school before the incident.
The boy told investigators that he had “big difficulties” with his father’s accomplice, including his father became once left without a selection however to lock him up within the van, mentioned the prosecutor.
The father has been taken into custody below preliminary kidnapping and diverse bills. His accomplice, who mentioned she became once now no longer conscious of the newborn’s whereabouts, became once charged for failure to abet a minor in pain.
