OpenAI hires veteran Google executive as corporate development VP

OpenAI on Monday confirmed that it has appointed Albert Lee, senior director of company pattern at Google, as its vice president of company pattern.

Lee will commence up his role at Microsoft-backed OpenAI on Tuesday and file to finance chief Sarah Friar.

The draw of bringing Lee “on board is to be sure now we occupy a senior chief with tall visibility all over the firm who is empowered to scamper immediate,” an OpenAI spokesperson advised Reuters.

At Alphabet’s Google, Lee had been leading company pattern for Google Cloud and DeepMind, and the formula and scouting team. Since he joined the firm in 2011, Lee has worked on over 60 transactions spanning acquisitions and strategic investments totaling more than $50 billion, fixed with his LinkedIn profile.

The Records become once the predominant to file Lee’s scamper earlier in the day.

His hiring follows OpenAI’s recruitment of archaic Amazon government Torben Severson as its new vice president and head of international substitute pattern final month.

OpenAI in September hired Mike Liberatore, archaic finance chief at Elon Musk’s xAI, as the factitious intelligence startup’s substitute finance officer.

Lee is also on the advisory board of Alphabet’s honest progress fund, CapitalG, which has invested in corporations equivalent to CrowdStrike and Airbnb.
