Potable water out of reach for Cuttack residents as water supply project remains defunct

The authorities has launched plenty of schemes to present ingesting water to every household, spending crores of rupees on the heroic initiatives. Nonetheless, no matter such enormous expenditures, folks are restful no longer receiving potable water. 

Villagers of Gobindaram Patana below Niali block in Cuttack district are restful grappling with ingesting water points, as a result of water project that has been mendacity defunct since months.  Though a water tank has been constructed, pipes bear been laid and faucets bear been put by spending crores, the project has been mendacity defunct without having any utility. 

Residents of the village bear expressed deep disappointment over the scenario. After many times lodging complaints from the panchayat level up to the block level without any resolution, the villagers bear turn into helpless. Nearly 300 households are struggling each day to accumulate receive ingesting water. 

“Though water was provided through pipe before one year, the system has been lying defunct for the last three-four months. We are facing many problems in fetching drinking water and use of water in other purposes. We request the government to provide us water as soon as possible,” stated a villager.

“We are dependent on only one tube-well. It’s taking a long time to reach there and fetch water. We request the government to solve the issue soon,” stated one more villager.

“Though we approached the Sarpanch about the problem, he expressed his helplessness. Then we requested Niali BDO about the matter and he assured us to solve the issue within only three days. However, nothing has happened in the last two months. We request the government to provide us water as soon as possible,” stated a neighborhood resident.
