Panaji: TCP department officers on Thursday withdrew approval to interchange the land exercise to settlement for 2 land parcels at Arambol, Pernem, covering around 3 lakh sqm. Villagers had been agitating against the proposals for the past loads of months.Chief metropolis planner (planning), Vertika Dagur, issued the notification following the announcement by TCP minister, Vishwajit Rane, that the approval can be withdrawn. The TCP board claimed the decision to withdraw the approval became once taken on Dec 23.

The department had earlier agreed to convert two witness numbers below Portion 39A of the Goa TCP Act by bettering the Regional Notion, 2021. The land parcels are owned by Kishore Kumar Kaya Kailash Rajendra Singla.One location in witness no. 275/0(part) — which is 1 lakh sqm — entails orchard land, playground, and no-pattern slope, and became once cleared for conversion to settlement zone. In the second witness number, of 2 lakh sqm, over 1.2 lakh sqm — at the side of orchard land, no-pattern slopes and 608sqm of crematorium land — became once proposed as settlement zone.
