Two shooters, five others arrested in Punjab for AAP sarpanch murder case

Punjab Police on Monday (January 12, 2026) stated it has arrested two shooters and 5 different accused in the atomize case of an AAP sarpanch who was once killed at a wedding in Amritsar on January 4.

The two shooters —Sukhraj Singh alias Ganga from Patti in Tarn Taran district and Karamjit Singh from Gurdaspur district — were arrested from Raipur in Chhattisgarh on Sunday (January 11, 2026) in coordination with the local police and Central companies, Punjab Director Total of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav advised newshounds.
