NEW DELHI: The joint opposition Wednesday protested on the Parliament entrance against contemporary labour codes and demanded their scrapping, with Congress president and leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge targeting the Modi govt as “anti-labour, anti-worker, pro-cronies”.Kharge said the codes pose a “risk to job security” because the layoff threshold with out govt approval has been raised from 100 to 300 employees. He said the contemporary provisions will cease permanent jobs as companies will rent employees on rapid-length of time contracts to place up far from lengthy-length of time benefits for employees. They held a good banner — ‘No to Corporate Jungle Raj, Yes to Labour Justice’.Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said govt had snatched all the rights of employees within the title of simplifying licensed tricks and bringing labour codes. “Thru these licensed tricks, Modi’s pro-capitalist and anti-worker mindset has again reach to the fore. The country would not accept these licensed tricks,” she said.
